Help Help! SW corrupted, camera button won't work, can't restore a nandroid!

I've got some weird stuff going on with my phone. It will boot normally, sometimes. Sometimes it gets stuck at the bootloader. I have no internet connection, my PC won't recognize the phone, the phone won't charge and I can't restore a backup because my camera button doesn't work! The UI on the screen works fine, though. The hard buttons on the bottom are hit and miss.

I can get into clockworkmod recovery, but can't select anything because my camera button doesn't work.

I can get into ROM Manager to restore a backup, but I can't flash clockworkmod recovery because I can't connect to the internet. If I flash bootstrap recovery using DroidX Bootstrapper, is that the same as flashing clockworkmod recovery? If so, I may be able to restore a backup. I'm scared to start the restore process without flashing clockworkmod recovery.

I've pulled the battery and rebooted multiple times.

Running Froyo, Liberty 1.5 and Crystal X theme. Any help would be appreciated. I'm tripping out a bit!

Ok, I was able to do a factory reset from stock recovery. Lots of trial and error w/the faulty camera button. I can now charge the phone and it will communicate with my PC.

Does anyone know if a faulty camera button could be caused by corrupted software? Thinking of attempting to flash back to stock Froyo and seeing what happens (if I can get the camera button to cooperate). If it's a hardware problem, I might be able to get a replacement phone.
