I have rooted my thunderbolt. The main reason is the loss of hotspot. I had been using ipad2 thru the hotspot. I have downloaded a few wifi apps like Barnicle, wifi tether, and others. The iPad finds the signal but does not go online. Any help please.
Could be that the rooted tethering apps use ad hoc connections. Laptops will use these but a lot of tablets and e readers don't. Had the same problem when trying to set up the Nooks we bought as Christmas presents. Your best bet is to pay for the unlimited hotspot as you need it. It's a dollar a day and easy to turn on and off online.
if youre using "wireless tether" then simply stop tethering, then start it again. it never works for me on the first try,but always on the second. ive tethered my ipod without issue,or changing any settings.
