Root Help tethering

kulsh

Lurker
I hope you can help with the tethering with my optimus m. I loaded the z4root in the phone and I believe it is running (how can I check?) and I installed WIFI wireless tether off the market and the problem is it starts to load and says tap here to start tethering and then nothing. What can I do to fix this problem? This is my first smart phone and I am a 24hr newbee so be easy. I also was looking through other posts before posting this question and didn't find anything. So any help would be greatly appreciated
THANKS

If you are rooted you should have a app called superuser. The way I can check if I am root is install terminal emulator open it and type su you should have amessage at the bottom sáing terminal emulated has been granted superuser permissions.

It says permission denied...

This is what I do
1st put the phone in usb debugging
2nd run z4root
It says acquiring root shell it sits there for 30 seconds and the goes back to my home screen

Is this right?

You can also use PdaNet. They say you dont' need to root to tether, but there are other reasons to root. PdaNet might help you.
