Lurker
today,i have succesfully rooted my xperia x8 2.1,but when i follow the step to install app2sd,im stuck at command promp step, when i key in "adb shell",it replying "error:device not found",i should get $ sign but i get an error message instead, can someone help me?

i already set the screen timeout to 30 minutes,in case the Superuser program would popup and show "allow" notification, but nothing appear on my phone screen :(

hi ihsan123,

2.1 (eclair) does not support apps2sd. you can use link2sd.

Hey guys, so i've been up for quite a time, trying to get this stuff working, i've read a lot through the forum..
I've rooted my phone, installed Xrecovery, and now im at the app2sd..

So.. at the cmd taskbar, i typed "su", granted permission on the phone, and then was supossed to type "sh /sdcard/app2sd.sh" and see a screen.. as the "suhel28" guide says..

but instead i get "sh: Can't Open /sdcard/app2sd.sh" on the cmd.

I suppose i must change 2.1 to any other room then ? or use link2sd since i cant get this one to work?

Or .. , i've also read this
Thanks for that, but a new problem arose when I got the "su" thing going. I finally got super user to allow the action, but now I can't get the "sh /sdcard/app2sd.sh" going. all it says is that I can't open it? Any ideas why? I've seen another thread that's in exactly the same pickle.

Hmmm. I think I just enabled app2sd, but i'm not sure. While I do have that 127 or so MB free on my phone, how do I know what apps are now on my phone and what are on my card? Sorry for being annoyingly curious about this.

Check if there is a folder named SD in your phone /system

Already tryied to move the "sdcard" to the system on the phone with Root Explorer but the folder was empty/ or it would say insert sdcard since i had formatted it earlier to start the app2sd process...

Kinda confused around here, going to read a bit more and try something.. while i do that if anyone can help me, i would gladly appreciate it.

Regards.

EDIT 1 : Ok i got it done, what i was doing wrong was, i didnt had the phone " charge mode " and i had to rename "PHONECARD" to "SDCARD" on the computer, cmd wasnt detecting the sdcard 'cuz it was named phonecard, also the folder had this name "app2sd2.1 mod (dalvik-cache to sd)" on the sdcard , had to change it to app2sd and inside of it was the file we need it for the cmd "app2sd.sh" ..

so it would be like this "sh /sdcard/app2sd/app2sd.sh"

I guess most ppl was just extrating the folder and put it on the sdcard, but this way u have to rename the folder and do it like it is up, also when u plug the phone, at least for me, it shows "PHONECARD" and not "SDCARD".. so cmd wouldnt find the right path.

So im done, after like a full morning of reading xD thanks to the community/ and suhel above all for the guide..

Regards.
