Lurker
I orginaly got much needed help to root my phone. I had a volume problem. Phone works great, except now I keep getting messages asking me to upgrade my system.

When I let it update, it failed telling me it doesn't recognize the kernel. I want to restore the orginal kernel, then let it update (and no doubt root it again after)

I'm old and don't remember who helped me or how to restore the kernel

can some one give me a step by step procedure to do this? Assume I know NOTHING while telling me

Thanks!

Hmmm, the best way maybe to upgrade your recovery to the latest ClockworkMod version. The best way to do that is to download the app called "Download Manager" and then using it to flash the latest CWM recovery.

Once that's done, update the "Super User" app on your phone. When you open the app, click on "update" and it should bring it up the the latest.

Hopefully that resolves your issue.
