Help help unlocking droid phone

Hi,
so my droid x phone broke completely, my friend put his tool box ontop of it and smashed it.

I need to send in for another and I have an old original droid phone, the heavy one with a keyboard but its locked and I don't know how to unlock it.my friend found it at his job in the lost and found bin but no one ever claimed it so he gave it to me.
Id like to unlock it to use it while I wait to have the iphone 4 sent to me after the 10th of feb.
Is there a hack I can download to open it and use it meanwhile????

you might want to call Verizon with the ESN number and see if the phone can even be activated. as far as unlocking, might try holding the X button on the keyboard while powering up the phone. see if it has a customer recovery. you could simply load a new rom if thats the case. or another option would be to flash an SBF file and totally reload all the software. other than that, I believe you have to know the google acount on the phone to get around it.

Well he gave me the phone 'cause someone forgot it and never claimed it- he works security and he gets to keep the stuff people don't come back and claim.

So there's no program i can download and run that'll reset the phone so i can log on? it has a password on it :/
