ok so my brother broke his phone which is rooted for him. i would have no problem unrooting it except he broke his screen. so since the screen is just nothing but black i have no clue what hboot version he has and have no clue how to return this phone to stock. appreciate any help

Hmmmm, bad predicament. Maybe try to find a replacement on craigslist or ebay. Or try to find a local store that doesn't mind rooted users. They're around, just have to test the techs with a tooth pick. :)

oh boy i have a feeling im gonna get screwed on this one lol. i was hoping there'd be a way i could do it while hooked up to my laptop. guess ill start calling places tomorrow.

I would think that you could do it through adb BUT if you are not familiar with it, it will likely be overwhelming. The other choice would be to run the ruu from your pc and hope they don't see the s-off

ok lol 2 questions xtreme. 1. what is adb? and 2. what is ruu? i dont have all the terminology down yet

ADB= Android Debug Bridge. Basically you can do functions on your phone through a pc when its plugged in.

RUU is the stock original software that came on the phone. It is used to completely restore a phone to "out of the box" stock.
