Help Help updating from unrooted Bionic

Hey all, I was hoping to get some help for my wife's Bionic.
I just unrooted it and it's sitting at System version: 5.5.886.XT875
I know, pretty ancient. I'm hoping to get it back up to at least .905, if not an ICS leak. Two problems I'm having:
-There's tons of remnants of the Liberty ROM it was running (boot ani, settings, pull down toggles etc) even after 2 factory resets.
-Everytime I go into check for System Update, I just get a blank screen. Likely another handover from Liberty.

I'm certain I'm not rooted. Other question I have is, from .886, where do I need to go to? I've read in order to install the ICS leak, you need to be on .905. Not sure which is okay to flash in recovery. I'd like it to remain unrooted and just looking for newer radios and firmware as it's really suffering right now.
Thanks! :)

To get your wife's bionic cleaned up and able to update I would flash the modified stock 5.9.902 fxz file from this thread here. http://androidforums.com/bionic-all-things-root/480176-how-flash-5-9-902-rsdlite.html It will keep all your wife's data just like an OTA but get her bionic on a clean 5.9.902. Once she is there you can let it update to 5.9.905 on it's own. With the 5.9.905 update done you can flash the ICS leak in stock recovery.

Thanks, actually in the process of doing that. I've SBF'd or FXZ'd before so it shouldn't be too tough. Backed up all her texts which she was most concerned about also since I know it'll be a clean slate. Crossing fingers!
