Hi Everybody! Thanks for checking out my post! I have a HTC Droid Incredible here which I am unable to update the firmware to the desired 2.2.
Let me give you some background info:
I rooted the phone a while ago, probably a year, and had no use for it and was really ticked that I was unable to update to 2.2, so I followed a guide which instructed me to un-root by "downgrading" the phone to stock 2.1. It took my a few tried but I eventually got it. All signs of root were erased along with ALL of my data. I was happy nonetheless. I have been un-rooted for several months now and have been unable to manually update and have't received the OTA update for Froyo (which came out in August). I am now really annoyed and am trying very hard to manually update by following this guide: Manually Update DROID Incredible to Android 2.2 - Droid Life: A Droid Community Blog I have tried many different names for the file and have downloaded and renamed on both a Mac and a PC and the first 4 or 5 tries I kept getting signature verification errors. It also says it is unable to read the cache (appears near top after applying the SD/update.zip when it shows the processes). My SD card is formatted as FAT32.
I currently have:
Firmware Version: 2.1 -update1
Baseband Version: 1.00.03.04.06
Kernel Version: 2.6.29-cc1c2268
htc-kernel@and18-2 #1
Software Number: 1.22.605.0

My phone displays that there are no available system updates. I have already tried doing the "checkin" and each time it says "Checkin successful". I have 'USB debugging' on for tethering if that makes a difference.

When I try to update through recovery, it says "Verifying signature" and the progress bar gets about 1/5 of the way and then:
