Help Help? USB Device Not Recognized?

I've had my Vibrant for a few months. I don't do anything special to it. Went to plug it into my computer yesterday and got the message "USB Device Not Recognized"

When I plug it into the computer it charges it, Just won't bring up the mount option for me to add files to the phone.

Anyone else have this problem? Any other way to dock the phone to the computer to add files to it? I'm really bummed out about this and don't feel like going through the hassle of having to get another phone shipped to me

I also get the USB not recognized message. Also, when charging and it reaches 100%, it will not update the display even when uplugging it. It thinks it is still charging. I went to the T-Mobile store yesterday and they said it was probably software. I tried to do the Froyo update, but can't since I can't get it to recognize the USB with the computer. Did you figure out your issue? I want to get off my data before wiping it, but obviously that won't work either.

I've got the same problem, however, my phone is bricked. I cannot get windows to recognize it at all. I cannot get it into download mode.

any ideas on getting xp to recognize a bricked phone?

Could you elaborate more on your phone's problem and how it came to that point? What did you do to it? What does it do when you try to power on, etc.?

i had this problem. it was easily fixable.on my galaxy vibrant i went to applications/settings/about phone/usb settings. in there i clicked on mass storage. and then hooked it up to my pc. the pc then detected my phone as a mass storage. Oh and on the phone from the drop down menu you have to select "mount". then just unselect mount when done. I hope i explained this well enough? lemme know if it works out for you. :)

I am also having a problem getting my PC to connect... I have tried downloading file after file, switching between Mass storage, Kies, etc... and nothing. My pc says I have no drivers installed, yet when I update the driver, it tells me that the most current driver has already been installed (XP generic driver).

Could this have any bearing on the type of cable being used? I'm using the one given to me with the phone when I bought it...
