Help: Vibration isn't working at all!

Hi!
(HTC Desire \ Rooted \ 2.2)
I'm not sure if its some kind of a conflict between apps' settings or perhaps a permissions issue... but all settings are on \ active for vibration, but nothing is ever vibrating in any situation.

Is there a adb permission fix or anything tp fix that?

i'm affraid to do factory wipe cause i'm not sure what will it do to my apps \ files \ contacts \ widgets (?).

any help will be highly appricated!!!

Did you add or change anything before this happened? It's possible the gyro is simply broken if not...

well yes i've changed \ installed many things,
what is "gyro" ?

will it help to do a factory reset? will it also effect my widgets\contacts\applications\so on?
