Root Help. Wifi tethering.

Okay, here's the problem. My WiFi tethering works perfectly fine. The only problem is after a few minutes it wants to cut off or drop off and i have to reconnect my laptop to use WiFi. do you guys have any solutions?

IIRC that was a bit of a hardware flaw, I could be wrong. Try using wired tether instead.

If i was to use wired tether would i be able to connect my laptop to xbox for xbox live?

Does keeping the phone awake prevent this issue? Back when I had a prevail I remember having to have the phone in awake mode (plugged in with stay awake when connected selected) to keep a wireless connection
