Help with a Locked Hero

I bought a Hero about a month ago on Craigslist and I'm sure you can all guess what happened. Yes, the phone had a bad esn. So, I am looking to see what my options are.

As soon as I got the Hero I updated it to 2.1 unknowing that it would halter the ability to clean the esn using CDMA Workshop and such (At least it did with the guide I read...). So, since that option isn't really there (Unless there is a way to downgrade... is there?) Is there anything you can do with that phone I could put it use with? Is there any buyers I could market this to?

Any help would be highly appreciated. I just bought an Evo so I really want to figure out what I can do with this device.

There "IS" a way to reprogram the ESN, but it is illegal technically to do so and I wouldn't want to violate any of the forum rules either by posting it. Google it and you might find the instructions somewhere.
