Help with a Winpad-A10 tablet

Hi all, as the topic title suggests, I need some help with the aforementioned tablet.

Anyways, after using it for about a day or so, I found that it's quite slow - so I was hoping to upgrade it (sans the included bloatware).

However, I'm quite the novice when it comes to Android, so I need some help figuring out what to do. From what I've read so far is I need to root it first, then flash a new rom? Though I have no idea how to go about doing this.
