Help with activation... sitting at error 16

So I picked up the Evo yesterday... go online and activate it... turn it on so it can do it's "hands free activation" it goes "Contacting network"... usually it would take about 5 seconds then pop up with "Unexpected Error vDM". This is with 3 signal bars. But as of this morning I now have 0 signal bars and it sits at the "Contacting network" for a good 5 minutes then pops up "Your activation could not be completed. Please try again, tap Menu > Settings > System updates > Update Profile. Error code: 1012

WHAT is going on?

I call customer service and they say to wait a couple days and call them back :rolleyes:
 
just did a factory reset... when it came back on I had 3 bars again and it activated... it's all good now. Hopefully there are no other issues... couldnt understand 80% of what customer service even said!
 
The error was not on the phone, It was a provisioning error.

If you've finally got it activated that means they were able to fix that error.
The factory reset clear out the cache of the failed activation. =]
