Help Help with Android Task Manager and SDCard

Lurker
Hi and thanks in advance for any advice/help given. To be short and simple, I have a mytouch 4g working perfectly fine, except for android task manager (i think). I have several or more items in the "auto-kill list" (such as amazon mp3, messenger, mail, other useless programs etc). These are programs I always want closed. However, why is it when I look at the task manager, they are still there?

Even though I kill it at that moment, in about 5 minutes later if I check the phone again those tasks will be running. I have set the auto kill list to keep closing aggressively, I am not sure why programs in the auto kill list still are running, using up my phones resources.

Problem 2 came a few days ago. Having the phone for about 3 months now, suddenly my SD card became "messed up" (it keeps mounting as READ ONLY no matter what). Unable to back up the SD Card because it wont read at times, I format it and restart phone. Now the computer wont detect the phone or SD Card at all (yes I changed the selection to disk drive and all that, still undetectable when plugged into computer, but it charges).

What do I do? Thank you.

1. Third party task killers are bad for Android.

If you really NEED those apps gone, you'll have to root. :(

Honestly, I have mine stock, no rooting or any custom tweaks (other than apps and widgets off the market) and the phone works perfectly with days and days of uptime. The longest I went was just over 2 weeks without a reboot, and the only reason I rebooted was to have my SIM card replaced.
