Help Help with Back up.

Basically I'm having a few problems with my DHD now including the GPS not working despite using all the fixes and sometimes names not being displayed with some text messages (which i fixed by taking the battery out).

I was considering doing a full system reset which i've never done since I had the phone, do people think this is worth it to fix the GPS which is what HTC customer services have recommended me to do, and if so how to i back up my contacts etc? I dont mind losing my apps because i'll only lose my angry birds high scores! lol.

A factory reset appears to be HTC customer services answer to everything!

One of the updates broke GPS, what's your software version, there may be an update to fix it. Or has it always been broken/dodgy?

I'm pretty sure its never worked. I have one of the first models cause I got it the week it came out from cpw. I had it work once using the gps status app but now that can't even detect anything

I think I got one of the first models, but I've never had an issue with GPS.

I don't think the factory reset will work, but you never know. If you've resigned yourself to losing the data, there's no harm in it I suppose.

How do i get my contacts saved onto my sim again? I don't really want to send my phone off to HTC to be honest to get this fixed so i'll just make do if it doesnt work, just pretty annoying.

Yea I would use it and its also the principle. I have tried the gps status thing but it didn't work. Any other ideas?

Getting back to the original topic, I also need to do a factory reset but was told I would lose all my text messages.

What's the easiest and most comprehensive way to do a full backup?

Thanks
