Can anyone help me with a problem.
I got a bluetooth earpiece for christmas and I tried to use it with my LG shine plus but it wont find it.
I turn the bluetooth on put it in discoverable mode and scan for devices and nothing shows up.
SO I thought maybe it was the earpiece and I tried it with my blackberry no problem so then I tried connecting my blackberry to the shine and it wouldnt find that one either.
Is there something that I am missing or an update or something

Called LG Canada. Customer service really had a poor attitude and did not seem too knowledgable. Claims that the two devices made by LG are not compatible (????) Went to back to Best Buy who said that the two are compatible, but the phone is defective because it could not discover any of the other bluetooth devices which should be available in their store. Best Buy said that there have been numerous Shine Plus returned with defective bluetooth. Unfortunately, I am outside the 14 (or 30) day return period. I was told that I need to deal with Telus. Telus wants me to drop off at one of their authorized dealers who will send it out for repair (3 - 4 weeks); this would be a major inconvenience. Will wait and hope for some quick fix. I don't normally use a bluetooth.

If bluetooth is important to you, test out your Shine Plus before the return period expires.

FYI, Best Buy/Future Shop/Telus have set up an "Express Exchange" program. Once you are outside of the the store exchange/refund period, if you have a warranty issue, just call 1-888-547-3749. They will send a replacement phone with a mailer to return the defective phone. If within 30 days of purchase, they will send a new phone. Outside of the 30 days, they will send a refurbished phone.

It took two tries and 6 weeks, but I finally got my defective phone replaced. It took 5 weeks for them to send a replacement. I was not happy with the first one because the slider keyboard had an unacceptable gap between the sliding keyboard and the screen. The second replacement was fine. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the bluetooth was capable of voice dialing. I may start walking around with one of those flashing things stuck in my ear.

I installed a updated on my LGC710H LG Shine Plus phone and now my Bluetooth devices will not connect. Any suggestions??

Search other threads for full explanation. In a nutshell, you can try a factory reset or root your phone and delete a troublesome bluetooth file.

Edit: I see you found the other thread.

PS. The bluetooth may be the least of your problems. You will find that your Voice Dial will be crippled if you updated to 2.3.3 v20A. You may have to return phone for a refurbed phone if it is still under warranty. See other threads.
