Help Help with charging cord.

Hey all,
I'm looking into getting a charger for the car... and while i was in Kohls last week came across a universal charger for a DSI. Plugs on it look similar to the DX but i'm not 100% it's correct.

The 12v plug that you put into the cig-lighter just had a couple USB inserts. Then you take your regular charger cord and plug it into it.

Does it give off the correct voltage or no?

I'd like a device like this plus an additional USB cord (like the one that came with the DX) so i can use either of them anywhere... at any pc, at home on the home charger, and in the car.

Thanks for the help everyone!

All car chargers run 12vdc with the same amperage. No matter what you use.

Edit: all the thing is that plugs in is a fuse box.

If it's a USB plug, then it's okay.

I tend to not buy the junk stuff at department stores, though. I am relying on the thing to protect my phone if there's a power problem.

The Griffin USB chargers have a nice accessible automotive fuse. You can buy the iPad charger if you want something high-amperage, or the standard charger will work if you don't do things like, say, streaming Pandora, running Navigation and outputting to Bluetooth simultaneously.

great, thanks guys... i forgot about monoprice, always get my cable there and it's some good stuff.

What is the actual name of the end of the cable going into the DX?

Gomadic.com. I've been using them for three phones now. They're like iGo; universal chargers with exchangeable tips. I have both a car charger and a wall outlet, and all I need to do is swap $5 tips if I want to charge, say, either my DS or my X.
