Help Help with contacts...

[Putty]

Sister got an Incredible today and they imported her contacts in from old phone. Now when you go to people/menu/view...it's using 'imported contacts'..that's what's checked. How can I move those contacts to Google/Gmail, so all her contacts are managed there? Once in gmail, I will delete all the contacts and sync gmail for contacts

Thanks!!!

Unfortunately, I can't give you the exact sequence, becuse I am now running CyanogenMod rather than HTC Sense, but there is a way to export the contacts from People as a .csv file.

See step 8 in the Desire thread at http://androidforums.com/desire-sup...-sync-phone-contacts-back-google-account.html. (Desire runs the same People/Contacts as the Incredible, so the steps are the same or very similar.)

You can then upload that to Gmail or Google Contacts. See Importing CSV files - Gmail Help.

Go into contacts, hit menu and choose import/export and export them to the sd card, the go back to the import/export and choose import and it will give you the option to save to google.

This has been resolved. I had to export then import to Google. Wipe all 'phone' contacts...then clear data on contact storage within applications and then sync. Working like a charm...thanks!!
