Help with data recovery...

I have a used Samsung 2 skyrocket for Sprint. It's been a month since i deleted all my data in the the "my folder" applications. During that time i have been trying to recover it without the help of rooting my phone, at that time i came across two good programs that can recover my data. The programs are: Yodot & Asof tech. But, when Yodot try to connect it says some like "device is not found" so if i'm right :idea:, that would my drivers are outdated, right? And so when i tried to let the computer (i'm running windows 8 in VM ware) update the drivers, it fails. So i tried to follow the instructions from other thread, no dice. Then I tried to update or download and install it myself, i run into problems. Maybe it's my phone or maybe i deleted something in my folder that is giving me these problems. Oh, maybe this may help, when i connect the phone via USB cord, I get the notification Media device (MTP)and Camera (PTP). Thanks so,so very much in advance.
