Root Help with first ROM

Before I start, let me say that I have read and researched for several days before making this post. I may have overlooked an obvious answer, if so, I apologize.
I have the MilestoneX (mb809) thru a regional carrier called Appalachian Wireless. I'm told it is the DROID X without the Verizon brand. I was able to root it with Super1click and have the clockwork recovery set up and the Droid2 bootstrap. I would like to experiment with a new ROM now. I have some concerns and questions. Here are the specs on my phone: baseband ver. BP_c_02.06.00R system ver. 3.2.6.mb809.ACG.en.US ERI ver 1357 PRL ver 10026 running android 2.2.2. (which I understand is Froyo)
Question 1. Which ROMs will work with this phone without making changes to my baseband causing me to loose connectivity with my carrier?
2. What are the exact steps I need to take to put the ROM on?
3. How do I get my apps back on, once the new ROM is in place?

Any advice offered will be most appreciated.

Tracy

im not sure if a froyo sbf file is made for your carrier, i would ask one of the devs if they have something of that nature hopefully you will get an answer soon, but once you have the sbf, any 2init rom will work with your phone, GB roms im not so sure as they were made for VZW/Moto based gb

Guys, Im in a hell of a shape right now:eek: Made the mistake of doing a "factory reset" while running Darkslide 4.2. All went fine...booted up, but evidently it replaced my baseband with Verizons. No phone..no data..etc.
I have searched every forum known to humankind for an SBF that will work with Appalachian Wireless in eastern KY. Best I could come up with was a "Generic North America" SBF that one Appalachian Wirleless user had used, but he said it didnt give him his 3G back. Does anyone here know of an SBF that will get me my baseband back? Here I sit with a $400 IPOD.
