Root Help with Fresh 0.5.3 ......

I'm ready to root my Evo just looking for detailed instructions on how to get Fresh 053 on there. Read that I needed to do something with the NAND ?


Can anyone point me to a link for instructions on installing it from stock release day rom to newest Fresh version. I also updated with the OTA when it was pushed to my phone earlier if that matters. Thanks in advance.

oh boy, if you havent been rooted with part 1 yet you should search, there are a few newb friendly 1 click rooting, i suggest you go that route then go with the detailed step by step route

Haven't tried this, I did it the long way, but someone made a program to do it on Windows
[Program] SimpleRoot .1 ---- 3 Click Root w/ nand unlock!! - xda-developers
The Idiot-proof guide here says that that one does work with the new update, but I'm not positive about this one. This one does NAND too

I did the long way for part 1, then used the 1-click method to NAND (although I did all 3 steps of the 1 click to be safe). Worked very well - it basically just sends the ADB commands for you so you don't have to type them.

Correct me if I'm wrong just so I understand. Do I root with something like toast first? Or is toast and fresh part 2 of the root? Thanks for the help so far.

Do this. It is unimportant whether it is the toast method or whatever if you use this. Just try to root it for now. Then come back and figure out how to put a ROM on the card. No reason to do it the hard way. A lot can go wrong.
