Help with Google+

When I first got my Samsung Galaxy Centura Android 4.04 I decided to see what applications I could set up. I saw I had Google+ so I entered all the information they asked of me. When I was all done a message appeared saying it couldn't load the data given. I realized I didn't use Google or didn't have an account and I was wondering if I needed a Google account first and then use the user name as well as the password to set it up on my phone. Since it doesn't appear to work I disabled Google+. I am one who does not like an application not to work. A few questions:
1. Is Google+ a needed application?
2. Since Google+ was pre-installed can it be deleted and then reinstalled?
3. Do I need to have a google account before Google+ is set up on my phone?
4. I don't actually use Google but as a search engine.

I hope a post like this is acceptable. I tried to find any information on the but no luck so I came here. Thanking you in advance for any help you might give me. I have read most of the manual and so far it has helped me tremendously but some things it doesn't seem to provide.

Hi @yjsk2100 and welcome to AF

First of all, you need a Google account to be able to download applications from the Play Store - and you really should only download apps from approved sources like the Play Store or the Amazon app store thing. You would then use the same account for Google+.

To address your specific questions:

1. Google+ is only needed if you want to use it. It's primarily a social network but does add automatic photo and video backup, which you might find useful.
2. If you look in Settings > Applications > All, you should be able to find Google+ listed. Go into its entry and you may have the option to Disable or Uninstall Updates.
3. You should be able to create a Google+ account while setting up the application.
4. This isn't a question.

Thanks. I only download programs from the Play Store. I have downloaded 5 programs that I felt I needed. I haven't done anything with Google+ at the moment because I have to read up on it some more. I would like to delete the program, sign up for Google+ online and then reinstall Google+ using the information I used when setting up Google+ online. I think why it won't load is because I set things up backwards.

I did as you said about going to settings > Applications > All and I did find Google+ but it says it has been disabled. I need to enable it first. It also gives me the function to Force Stop.

And sorry #4 wasn't a question. I tend to get carried away and blather on when needing help. I will keep you updated on my progress.

Back to this one again. I have Google+ on my phone (Samsung Galaxy Centura Android 4.04.) I don't have an online google account set up online and I think I need to do this. I did go to Google+ on my phone, followed instructions but when it got to the end it said it could not finish loading. I realize I should have set up a Google account first so it could load what was there onto Google+. I have disabled G+. Is it possible to set up a Google Account online and then set up G+ again? Since I already entered most information and it would not complete is there a way to uninstall G+, set up a google account and then install G+ again and start again to set it up? I hope whoever is reading this can understand what I mean? My phone has about 8 updates to do but they are all associated with Google and since Google is not set up the updates fail. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi. Do you have a Googlemail (Gmail account)?
Did you enter it's details when you first turned on your phone and set it up?
EDIT since you say you use the play store to get apps, you must have a Gmail account on the phone.
Use those details to log into google+

Update.....As far as I can tell I set up Google+ before I set up a Google account. I believe I did all this google stuff backwards. I set up Google+ before I set up Google. Then I set up a google e-mail account. And none of them sync with the others. Only way I think this can be fixed is to start all over but I don't think this can be done with going back to factory setting on phone and deleting gmail account, then re-opening it. Too much trouble when I really don't use it that much if at all. So thanks for your help. I don't want to go back to factory settings. Too much to lose.
