Help HELP with HANDS FREE USE (droiding and driving)

I like using my GNex when I drive. But everything, the BT, the music apps, radio have to be set up before I start driving.

I wonder is there a way to turn on/turn off apps just with voice?

For example, I thought I might want to turn off my music app and turn on Tune In Radio app. Is that doable?

I really don't know anything about hands free use, and more specifically making calls - haven't a clue as to how to go about it.

Receiving a call is easy. And when the caller hangs up, the call is over but what if for some reason, I need to hang up first? I was thinking that if the two people talking are driving, SOMEONE has to hang up. How is that done?

I do not want to touch the phone. Like everyone I tend to look away from the road and doing that is just stupid.

ALSO: this is pretty important
after a length of time the phone goes into it's normal "rest mode". I don't want to have to unlock the phone and fiddle around with it when I'm driving. Bluetooth seems to cut through that but I haven't figured how to do that with voice or to keep the phone on when I'm driving.

Use a BT headset and Vlingo. That will solve some of your issues, at least. Some BT headsets are even voice-controlled. Regardless, you can prompt your phone to voice-dial via any BT headset (so you never touch the phone); typically this via a long-press on the button on your headset.

Thanks. I just installed Vlingo but it's not recognizing my contacts list, so I'm tooling around in there trying to figure how to get that happening. A restart fixed that. So far, so good. It's a nice app but I need to practice in it.

The phone came with a VOICE DIALER app built in. I haven't used it with any success as it doesn't really seem to do anything without my looking at it, which seems to cancel any practical use. Has anyone used this app with success and what are it's practical applications?
