Help with HTC desire Z wi-fi

I have an HTC desire Z. I am able to connect to my home wireless network but it wont donwload data via it how to i make it

Can you confirm that you're unable to connect to any data service such as web sites or email servers? In Settings/Wireless & networks/Wi-Fi settings, does Wi-Fi indicate "Connected to <your_SSID>"?
 
It says it is connected to my network and i can go surfing on the net and all the normal stuff but when i tryed to look at a video on facebook of a friend it says i should either connect to my mobile network or allow data download on my wi-fi connection and prompts me to go to the setting in wi-fi but i cant find what setting i need to change

Well, that's new. It can browse the internet through a browser but can't open video files on FB? Have you tried the following:

1. Play videos from Youtube
2. Use the data connection through your provider
