Help Help with HTC's Weather application...Please

I've tried a hard reset and my paid apps were available for download on the market. I didn't have to pay again. Hmm...

that is the way it should be for everyone... as long as they use the same gmail/google account on the phone after the hard reset that they had before.

For some reason, I cannot purchase beautiful widgets from the market place. I have two credit cards on file in my google checkout account and when it try to purchase it, it says I can't use either of them. I'm in the US is that reason? I have non problem purchasing other apps? Help.

Not the way it worked for me. I used the same email address. I purchased it through AppBrain.

Had I cared about the $2, I would have contacted the dev and ensured that I was not billed a second time.

If all you need is the same email address, whats to stop someone from downloading it on two (or 20) different phones? Just use the same email address each time.

Yes. I think someone else had the same problem.

My Bank wont accept ANY foreign transactions (outside the US) on my Debit card. Might want to contact your credit card company.

The stock app has the thing when you unlock the phone the screen gives you a brief full screen weather info, clouds roll by or rain on the screen. doesn't make or break it but, pretty cool.

Because you cant have your Google account synced between 20 devices at the same time. Its not just as simple as using the same email address. They device has to be signed into and synced on setup with your specific Google Account to have access to your paid apps in the market. And even if you could I seriously doubt you would want to be giving out you Google account information so that people could be sifting through all you personal emails and info all being pushed to their devices and playing with your market payment information.... See Below

I have 55 apps totalling more than $80 I have purchased in the market and have done hard resets on my Moto Droid well over 100 times and each and everytime, the apps are available under "downloads" section in the market.

Retrieving previously purchased applications Print

Your application purchases are tied to your Google Account and can be installed an unlimited amount of times on any device. So, for example, if you remove 'My Favorite Game' to save memory, you can reinstall it at a later date with no charge by simply visiting My Downloads. Note: free applications are not saved to My Downloads after you remove them.

If you change devices, you can install previous purchases by making sure you sign into your device with the same Google Account you used on your previous phone.

Additionally, if Android Market is attempting to charge you for an application you have already purchased on an existing phone, your device may have been reset and a new username and password created. Because the application is associated with a different Google Account, you are being charged to purchase it again. Please note, if you would like to continue using the device with your current Google Account, you will need to purchase the application again.

If you would like to access your application without purchasing it again, reset your phone and sign in using the Google Account used at the time of purchase. To complete this process, you will need to complete the following steps:

For Android 1.6 devices, visit Settings > SD Card and phone storage > Factory data reset. For Android 2.0 devices, visit Settings > Privacy > Factory data reset. This will wipe all data on your device; the SD/memory card will not be touched.

Sign in to your phone using the username and password of the Google Account you originally used to purchase your applications. If you do not know the password for this account, please visit the Google Checkout Help Center article about Passwords for instructions to reset the password.
Reinstall the application by visiting My Downloads.

I saw this solution on another thread, but it fixed my problem, so I'm pasting it here:

I had an errant city showing under my clock section other day which I was unable to remove. Causing weather to pull wrong city. Delete would not show it as a selectable option to remove. I had to *228 option 2 to update roaming which removed it & let weather pull correctly.

Do that, dial *228 for Verizon phones and choose option 2, let the network do its thing and the phone reboot, and the weather will show your current city:D

Thanks to user Iam918 for the fix

*Update, I did this and 10 minutes later the random city was showing and my city was gone, Sorry folks, still looking for the final answer.

Bwaaa.....f'd up my HTC home screen weather widget, and can;t seem to get it back.

I had the 'locked location' problem dscribed by roundishbed. I fumbling to clear it, I somehow managed to delete the weather display from the combined weather/clock on the HTC Sense home screen. The clock is still there, but the weather display is missing, replaced by the words My Location. GPS is on and working, so it seems that the weather app is not connecting to location?
Any clues on how to unscrew this?

This thread is at vzw community support forums... started as an Eris issue, then morphed into DInc as well. One guy seems to have troubleshot to it being a Google/location app issue, or something like that, and it only affects certain areas (panhandle of Florida, where I live for example). It doesn't provide much in the way of answers, but HTC and VZW are aware of the problem.

There may be more than one problem here. The VZW thread covers a general problem with GPS location, which sounds like a major issue for quite a few people.

My GPS functions work perfectly. Maps and nav are fine, and no problem with accurate GPS positioning for 'current location'.

My problem is:
- HTC Weather was stuck on a location it picked up on a recent trip.
- I tried to fix it, and now the home screen weather display is gone, replaced by the words My Location under the clock

Finally caved and called HTC support today. Have to say that the CSR was extremely helpful. Soft boot and a number of config changes did nothing, so he stepped up to deleting and reinstalling the HTC Closk widget [the large home screen widget that includes the local weather summary].

Initally no change, but I the 'use celltower for location' setting needed to be turned back on. The remove/reinstall process fixed it!

mine was working fine until maybe a week ago, now the only way i can make it work is to have auto sync turned on in accounts & sync. before i would just manually sync the weather, but that just results in a blank weather section with location only

Hi all,

I was also irritated by the weather app. It got stuck on a different city the other day and I couldn't change it. I looked on the forum and called HTC but nothing helped. However, I was determined to fix it so I was looking through the ALL APPS button on the HOME screen and in there you will find the magic hat SETUP button. Click that open and follow the steps as if you were setting up the phone for the first time just keep clicking next and your current location fixes itself. So there you go fellow droids.
