Root Help with mobile hotspot

I'm rooted. I'm running the very latest g60style #11.
I'm aware that in "wireless and networks" there's an option to click on portable hotspots.

I have Windows 7 home edition. I have deleted any old wireless connections when I go to "manage wireless connections."

I have downloaded open garden and banracle and wifi tether.

None of these work... Infact, when I attempt to connect through my computer, it freezes up.

Is there a step I'm missing in the settings on my phone... I've tried ad-hoc and that doesn't work either.

For me personally i could never get barnacle to properly work on anything

im currently running the G60Style Final edition and what i do that always seems to work is

go into wireless and networks
go to tethering and portable hotspot
go to portable wifi hotspot settings
configure hotspot settings
its not needed but i tend to change the name from the standard androidAP
seems to work best if its set to open network because i found some pc's even newer ones dont have the same wifi security as the phone itself
then save setting
then enable hotspot


then on ur windows 7 when you open the wireless windows its usually like a tab that slides up from the clock area
there is a refresh icon at the top right click that and you should see your new hotspot appear


also go into the plain old wifi setting and press menu, go to advance and set wifi to never disconnect when plugged in, i found that sometimes if i didnt do this that the hotspot also will get killed when the phone sleeps

now plug your phone into your charger with your hotspot enabled and try to connect

I am using a 2.3 based rom and use the wifi tether in the settings menu.

I was wondering how to get it to broadcast in g or n. Thanks
