Help HELP with my update!

Lurker
I have the Samsung galaxy s2 skyrocket and I think I messed up my update for the new ics version (or is it jelly bean?). My phone died and so I plugged it in and the few mins later it was doing an update. For whatever reason it freaked me out the it was updating on its own without even asking me so I unplugged it thus stopping the update cause I was afraid itbwas doing something it wasn't supposed to. I pretty much immediately realized what I had done and that I was an idiot. So when I plug it in and turn it back on I go to try the update again and go to settings >software update and my options are "check for update" and "continue update" obviously I want to continue update but you can see that option is kind of greyed out and doesn't actually allow me to click on it to continue so nothing happens when I try to continue it. So I decude tto check for updates. It says there are non and I can't check for update again for another 24 hours, which is weirs because it has never said that before when I've checked for updates so I thought that was strange. So I'm not sure what's going on and I really want to get ice cream sandwich but now im afraid I messed it up and screwed myself out of the update since it does nothing when I click continue update. What do I do and how do I get my update?! Any advice is appreciated!

Hi arose :hello: Welcome to the forums. I don't have the skyrocket but after a little searching it looks like ICS 4.0.4 is being released OTA.

If you go to settings > about phone, what does it say your android version is?

If it didn't update, you could try using Kies and see if it will work. Here is the AT&T site for the update.

The stock updater has always given the 24 wait for checking for updates. It's basically their way of keeping their system from getting clogged with requests. If everything still seems to be working on your phone, I wouldn't worry. It sounds like you may have simply unplugged your phone during the download process of the update. So no worries if that's the case. Just check again tomorrow.

Or you can root and upgrade to CyanogenMod 10.0!!! Hahaha.

Well it didn't work. Grrr. Idk why the " continue update" button is there if it wont let me click on it to actually continue. And when I click check for update it tells me its up to date but it really isn't bc it still says I have 2.3.6. Ive turned my phone on and off and tried everything i can think of but still the uodate wont continue. Hmmm I wonder what to do and if I need to hard reset it or something...
