Help Help with possibly bricked Epic

Hi everyone, about a month ago I decided to upgrade my Epic to the leaked Android 2.2, but I found that it was a bit laggy so I decided that I wanted to go back to 2.1 until the official release of 2.2. So, last night I used odin to try and flash my phone back to 2.1, but for some reason it wouldn't work and now my phone cannot boot at all. It just goes to the Samsung screen and hangs there. A friend of mine told me about using ADB to put 2.1 back on my Epic, but it doesn't recognize my phone when I plug it in. Could someone please tell me how I could go about getting ADB to recognize my phone? Thanks :D

Reuse Odin. I posted a good version of one of the firmware .tar files last night with directions.

A soft brick (which is what outer sounds like you have) is recoverable :)

I actually tried using both the DI07 and the DI18 .tar files and they both didn't work. Whenever I try to use them, it fails after recovery.bin when I put it in the PDA section. When I put it in the Phone section it starts and then stops at about 40% during factoryfs.rfs. I read on the xda-developers.com wiki for the Galaxy S that whenever that happens, that I should run it under phone first then reset and run it under PDA. I tried that and it still doesnt work. I'm at a total loss of what to do.

Pull the battery, open ODIN, put battery in and retry. When it "freezes" like that, pull the battery and try again without fully powering it back on first. :)

The first time it did that to me it scared me too!

Also, I just thought that I should mention that I took my phone into Sprint today to see if they could fix it and they said that they could not. :(
