Rec'd Android from second-hand Internet purchase a couple weeks ago.
It was rooted when I rec'd with Alltel 2.1, but no longer, as the local Alltel retailer upgraded me to 2.2 (at my request).
Since receipt of the phone, it has not been in 'home' mode (even before I had them upgrade to 2.2). It is constantly roaming, and won't come out.
Also unable to update PRL; due to the fact that the device is not 'looking at' any home towers, because it is in roaming mode.
Just took to local Alltel, and explained that it is stuck in roaming, and would also like to upgrade PRL.
They spent a few minutes with it in the back, and came out saying that they were unable to do anything with it.
Does anyone have any ideas as to how to get this thing out of roaming mode, so that I can upgrade the PRL, and also not be in a roaming state?
Would it do any good to institute the device insurance on it, and possibly have them look at it again, to see if they would fix with protection on it?
