Root Help with profiles....

....I know, I must be doing something SO stoopid, but I'm baffled.

I'm running a rooted desire with GV 2.7 and all I wanna do is change the profiles so that the default one doesn't have a sound notification when a message turns up.

I've added Handcent (my SMS handler of choice) into the application group under SMS and then under this group I've tried turning off the notification, or making it do a different sound - but nothing seems to work. I get the same notification all the time. I must be doing something basic because I've googled and searched these forums, and I can't seem to see that anyone else is experiencing these basic issues...

I know that I can change the notification in Handcent - but I don't want to - I'd rather do it all through profiles and then (when I want) I can just change profiles and have the notifications that are already pre-programmed at the app level....

Any help/advice - or should I just turn my beloved desire in, cos I'm too darn thick to use it, and go for a faithful, yet shtty nokia....

Don't know about Handcent but i found a similar problem in that Redux profiles don't play nice with chompSMS. I added it in to sms app group set up profile for sms notifications as i wanted but didn't change from chomp notification. Went to check notifications in chomp and fc'd everytime, tried uninstall/re-install but that didn't work. Had to removed chomp from the app group in the end - but it doesn't bother me anyway as only make use of 1 profile and just turn sound on/off in notification power widgets.

Interesting - I've been seeing some FC on Handcent lately - and I'm glad I'm not alone!!
