Help with retrieving texts?

So I recently had to factory reset my phone due to some kind of software problem. Luckily it has been resolved but due to my need to cut corners, I thought it would be good to back up my phone by copying and pasting every file on my phone to my computer.

I have now put it all back on but all my texts have gone. Contacts, pics and a couple of games have re synced but nothing else is coming back. Is there any way to retrieve my texts, they're what's most important to me and there sat there in one of the files with me unable to access them.

So is there anyway to fix my problem? thanks for any help

Hmm. Whats the folder/file name for where txts are stored peeps?

Id have thought Kies would have backed up and restored texts for you mate?
Welcome btw :)

Welcome alexilexi!
I think your texts are stored within the app you are using to text and when you factory reset, they are gone.
There are other apps out there that will save your texts before a reset but if you didn't save them with the app (My backup Pro comes to mind), they are forever gone:(
sorry to say that, but I think I am 97.88% right.

I think Kies backs them up without root but ive never cared about old txts so im not 100%.
If he has the txt file on his computer though, surely theres a way to put them back on the phone?

If you backup with Kies before hand it should have saved your texts. Everytime i do something to mine i backup with kies, then when i restore it all my texts are there.
