Help Help with ringtone

Hi, new to the forum and this is my first Android phone. Great site y'all have here and I have learned a lot in my short time. Currently deciding if I want to root or not.

The problem is I have a few custom ringtones set for different contacts. The ringtones are setup correctly when I go to the People app. However when one of them calls, the default ringtone plays (also custom.) What am I missing here?

To my understanding the actual default ringtone isn't custom, it's just VZW Airwaves. make sure you go into settings for sound and click on the right sound profile for callers.
