Root Help with ROM Manager

I am newly rooted on DX. World fine with titanium backup. Started to use rom manager. Best I can tell from other posts I should backup up my current default froyo rom. I updated the clockwork and then when I push to backup current rom, the phone restarts but does nothing more. Is that all it should do? Seems like it should show backup occurring. Any help appreciated.

yes it takes a while to backup and you should see a status bar within recovery. do you have bootstrapper installed?

You need koush's bootstrapper. You will know when you have the app droid x bootstrap. Or you can go to rom manager and click reboot into recovery. You will automatically reboot and clockwork recovery should appear, not the stock recovery.

If you have downloaded Droid X bootstraper then you can go to it in your apps
