Did you download the drivers prior to trying to root? Ill help the best I can but I use a mac and drivers aren't required. I know that the drivers give a ton a people troubles...

Did you follow this guide by chance? It has really good walkthroughs!

i went to the unrevoked web site and downloaded the unrevoked 3 then went to the other link and followed the steps as it said or so i think i did.

You need to download WiFi tether or flash a custom Rom that unlock the native hotspot feature. Most people have trouble with the tether app in the market. Look at post #71 in the rooting fordummies thread and use that version of it.

I flashed a rom and was using the sprint hot spot but when i click on settings for it it forces closed. Is there anything I can do to change that?

You can try clearing cache and dalvik from recovery and then reboot, that may fix the problem. If not you can either use wireless tether or reflash the current rom.

Use Wifi Tethering. It's easy and you can encrypt your network (I've never used the Stock Hotspot - so it may too).

If you have problems with Wifi Tethering you can usually download previous versions (1-14) and make it work. #9 Works good for most people.

I tried a whole bunch of those and they would not work. So I was told to use fresh and the sprint hot spot which worked but now it wont let me change the settings
