Root help with rooting

Installed drivers no problem, then launched unrevoked to root phone and it just sits there, screen reads make sure drivers are installed also says make sure HTC sync is not installed, I have never downloaded htc sync to my computer or any htc software for that matter. Thanks for any help

I'm guessing you need the ADB driver


Install HTC Sync first, get it, and uninstall.

thought I just needed the windows hboot drivers? Thanks Kommy I did try it

now I got unrevoked to run but did not root. Said failed to get root is your firmware too new? I have windows XP could that be a problem. I keep getting the pop ups about new hardware found from windows and I just ignore it.

Well ran it again and now have root. Feels kinda good and kinda scarey lol. Now I run titanium back up so i have a place to flash back to correct
