A few days back the bottom of my screen went black. If I leave the phone plugged in it shows black and white lines like in the picture. When I do a screen shot using Android SDK, the entire screen is captured normally with no black or striped area. I have SBF and I had the LCD replaced. No joy

Has anyone seen this issue before? Whatcha think???

this is a defect in the screen, my first dx did it, but it cracked the under screen, what you need to do is call into verizon, or visit your local store and have it replaced. this seems like a faulty screen, if you have sbf'd and still nothing, go to the store or call in, and you should get a new device.

you may or may not have to call insurance and pay the $99 to get a new phone.

let us know how it goes please. :)

I bought the phone from a private party a couple of months ago, so Verizon is not going to be of much help. It is very good to finally get a solid diagnosis of the problem.

I will either find a beater phone, and see about swapping screens, or just put this one on Ebay.

I found a replacement DX and am up and running on it. There is no phone of the new crop that tempted me to move away from the Droid X. Maybe sometime, but not from what I''m seeing presently.

Thanks
