Help Help with slow running X

My X in the last couple of weeks has started to run slower and slower. I don't really see anything that is eating up memory on Watchdog. I am thinking of doing a factory reset. My only question is what all will I lose? I assume that my contacts will stay in my "backup assistant" and I guess I could write down all of my apps, but what else do I need to worry about losing?

This is on a non rooted Droid X btw. Thanks in advance.

I was having a similar issue. I ended up doing a factory reset. That helped alot, but I stll was getting an occasional reboot.

Backup Assistant only backs up contacts you have created on the phone. If you have any in GMail they will be kept in GMail until you sign back in to your phone using that Google account.

Some people are saying that the App Brain app will restore your apps by doing a sync after a factory reset. Some people are saying the new Google Market will restore apps (paid and free), while other say it's only the paid apps.

A do know when I bought my ASUS tablet, when I went into the market the 1st time ALL the apps I had on my phone (paid and free) automatically downloaded to the tablet. I am using the same Google account on both.

I know if you want a list of your installed apps there is an app called App List in the market that creates a text file in the root directory of your SD card. I've used it before. It's simple (one button), small (30kb), and it works!

You can install any app by logging into the Android Market page. You could print it off or save to a pdf or xps file.

As long as you log in with the same gmail acct, your paid apps will be there. Your free apps may download on their own as well, but not always (maybe that's when the device/rom differs).

Thanks y'all. I uninstalled most of my apps and have been adding them back slowly. Everything seemed to be fine until yesterday when I re-installed Go Launcher. The phone seems to be slowing down a little bit. I will keep any eye on it.

You might be being squeezed by Verizon because ur using too much bandwith as determined by the average user. I try to keep my usage less than 1GB.

Go down to the bottom of the page and click on My Market Account. There you'll find a list of most of your installed apps (paid & free). You have to click the icon or app name, go to that page, reinstall from there (click the blue installed button).

Sorry, I guess I left that step out. I access it via the gear icon in the upper right (from any page).
