Help Help with Tesco Hudl please :)

I have just got myself a Tesco Hudl, and presumably due to issues with my computer i can not transfer files between the two via cable, so i have downloaded "Wifi File Transfer pro" to do it via my internet, and this all seems simple enough.

However using this app i have created new folders on the Hudl, and can not seem to find them or what has been put in them on the tablet its self, would anyone know what i am doing wrong here?

What sort of files are you transferring? If it's stuff like video or pics, the in built gallery app should pick them up. Likewise, if it's music, if there's a pre installed music player, that should automatically pick them up too.

Failing that, is there no file manager app pre installed on the Hudl? If you install something like ES File Explorer that will allow you to browse content on your tab in a similar way to how you'd use Windows Explorer.
 
Hi Ozz, and welcome to AF :)

How are you trying to find them on the tablet? You should be using a file browser app (I don't know whether it comes with one or not - if not, try ES File Explorer from the Play Store as a popular free option). They won't appear on your desktop automatically, if that's where you are looking (and if not, sorry for suggesting - just trying to guess what might be wrong :) ).

What OS is your computer by the way? That info might help someone suggest a solution to the cable transfer problem.

Thank you for the advice, i was moving folders with books in, and PDF's and having downloaded ES File Explorer from the Play Store as recommended, i can suddenly find them with no hassle, thank you very much, this is greatly appreciated :D

Thank you for the above information. I have installed the app that you mentioned BUT what do I do with it? Do I have to open it every time I want to download or should its very presence on my Hudl enable me to download? If indeed that IS the case, something is wrong because transfer is just not occurring: after an attempted sync., all I get is a message saying ''...sync. stopped''. I am puzzled!
 
It sounds like you have a different problem. The OP was able to download but then couldn't find/move the downloaded files, which is what the file explorer is for.

Could you explain exactly what you are trying to do and how? You talk about "sync" and "download", so sync with what (and wireless or cable), download from where?
 
Hello! Thanks for the reply. I am attempting to transfer files by cable from my Widows 7 Computer to my Hudl. The files are music [mp3-specially converted from wma because Hudl does not recognise them], and non-mp4 videos [Hudl does not accept mp4 despite the 'manual' saying that it does!].
I am attempting to move the music using Windows Media Player: I simply create a 'sync' list of mp3 songs from my library then tell it to synchronise with my external device. The process appears to be working- at the end, however, when WMP asks me to see the 'sync' results a list of tracks appears, each one annotated 'sync stopped'.
For videos, I simply 'drag' the file to the open Hudl. Asin the case of music, an empty file is transferred.
 
OK, Windows/WMP isn't my thing, so I hope someone who uses this comes along. I would have thought you could just drag & drop. Have you tried a different USB port? You'd be surprised how variable they can be. Don't use a hub, plug the cable directly into the computer.

Thanks for all your help. I still could'n't drop direct and I did change the port. However, I found a file on my Hudl entitled 'apps_getstarted_apps_content' [JSON file]. I do not know whether it was there from the outset or whether ES Explorer dumped it there but I have managed to drag a file across and it plays!!
For the record it's Honey Buggin' by the Eddie Beal combo.
