Root Help with Ubuntu On Triumph?

I used the Ubuntu installer app and got it working just fine on mine too. I am using the FroyoCream Sandwich ROM as well. I dont have an HDMI cable out but it is supposed to be working in this ROM.

Do you mind giving me step by step instructions on what you did? I tried to get it to work for me on the same ROM and it always gives me an error that says No such device or address.

When are you getting that error? In VNC or some where in the terminal emulator?

In the terminal. I have all the files downloaded but in the tutorial it says to extract the .rar file but they are all .zip. I assumed it was the boot script zip so I extracted the Ubuntu.sh to a folder named Ubuntu in the root of my SD card. Then I ran the script and that's when I get the error.

here's what I did and by no means am I a computer expert...

extract the two files to you SD card in a folder called 'ubuntu', you should have 'ubuntu.img' and 'ubuntu.sh' in this folder.

In 'terminal emulator' on your MT, type in 'su' then 'cd /sdcard/ubuntu' (make sure there is a space after cd), then type 'sh ubuntu.sh'
It runs through some stuff....it looks like things fail but after about 30 seconds I get the screen resolution prompt. I type in '800x480' then choose your desktop environment. It will run though a bunch more stuff and end up a root@localhost:/#

You are now done with terminal. Open up AndroidVNC, put in a nickname, password is 'ubuntu', for address I use '0' and color format is 24-bit. Hit connect and it should bring up Ubuntu...

You need to extract ubuntu.sh and ubuntu.img

Ok, here's where I'm confused. Is ubuntu.img in the same zip as ubuntu.sh? Or do i get that from the 500mb ubuntu zip?

Edit: Ok, I got it working. The tutorial wasnt really clear as to what you had to unzip it just said unzip the .rar file but after just unzipping both downloaded files to the ubuntu folder it worked. It should of been obvious to me.

The link to the app results in an error. I'm not sure if there's been an update to this, since it's been over a year. Are you using the guide to install it, or the app? Can someone provide the .apk and the cache data for that app?
