what phone do you have? and are you downloading a custom ROM or is this official? if custom are you rooted?

[TodaroA]

Droid 1, official 2.2 update.

isn't it just an OTA update?

[TodaroA]

It won't prompt me to update though.

I accidentally cancelled an update on my phone and it didn't prompt me again for 3 weeks!! make sure you have 'Scheduled check' ticked. Settings > About phone > System software updates. and click 'Check now' every once in a while (that is if your settings are like the ones on my Legend)

I did and nothing came up

As a last resort if your not rooted you can go to a Verizon store and they can force the update.

Glad to help. Let us know how it works out for you.

they can't update it because it can only be gotten by verizon through an OTA update....

they can't update it because it can only be gotten by verizon through an OTA update....

At some point they should have it because a friend of mine had to go to the store to get an update after the missed the OTA.

Is it giving you the error after you download the update or are you trying to force it?

I'm trying to force the update, and the dumb people at my verizon store can't force it they gave me the motorala contact number.
