Root Help with Verizon root on 12b

hey I have lg g3 on Verizon with 12b update , I know I have too down grade my software to root but what I want to know is once I do that will I be able upgrade again and keep root , someone please help.. my phone is bloated and I want screen shot and possibly some roms .

I believe that you can find some roms that will have the updated features in them, so no need to take the official OTA update (which will more than likely break root)
