Root Help with what Kernal to use?

I just rooted and am running the Sky Raider 3.1 RC3 ROM. I believe this rom comes with KingxKernal #1. I am not getting great battery life as of right now and am hoping that someone can suggest a new Kernal to help with this. I've read that KingKernal #4 can help with battery life, is this compatible with the rom that I am currently using? Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks in advance.
 
You might want to try using a kernel instead of a kernal. I hear kernals can brick your phone.

I use kings #4 at 883 max and get 16 hours of moderate use (google voice, email, playing wordfued, internet, facebook, twydroyd).
 
Haha yeah I definitely failed at spelling there, my bad. But will hydra stock work with the rom that I am using? Also is there anything risky about either of these? Thanks for the responses guys.
 
It's all good....I've never tried any of the stock ones but've tried pretty much everything else overclocked and what not without any issues, this is more like trial and error for some, every phone and setup could be different and some people claim that the phone freezes or reboots and so on.....never happened to me but there is always the posibility for that, as for safe, remember always to perform a nandroid backup just to be safe or keep a known working kernel in the sd-root just in case, no need to wipe or anything when installing, piece of cake ! good luck....
 
Just installed Hydra stock v.05 with the RC3 ROM. Will report back tomorrow with bat stats and how everything is working.
 
For any unsing Hydras Overlock/Undervolt which number 1-4? And how is it going?
 
I have always gotten great battery life with Kings BFS kernels though I dont like#3.

I'd say 2 or 4. I got 32+ hours on both with the stock red battery
 
I'm trying King's BFS #5, he fixed some issues that people were having with #4, and so far so good. I am using Redemption v2.0.4, OC'd to 1.113. Battery life with #4 for me on SR Vanilla 3.0 RC2 wasn't great.
 
i just got the stock speed undervolt kernel from hydra. i will report how it performes tomorrow. right now i am at 43% battery life so really dont know anything yet.
 
i also downloaded the overclock kernel and saved it on my desktop. this is afer i installed the stock hydra kenel, tonight i went to move the overclock to the root of my sd card and when i went to install it on my phone i didnt see it all i saw was the stock kernel from hydra. anyway to replace it with the oveclock kernel? please help.
