Help!

Hi, looking for some help please! Got myself a lovely htc desire today, all was going good to begin with but now ringtones and notification alerts seem to have been muted. Ive tried turning phone off then on again and have checked sound settings and all appears to be in order....has anyone else experienced this problem or does anyone know how to fix it or what im doing wrong?! Thanks!

In sound settings:

-Check "Sound profile" is not set to silent or vibrate
-Check Volume setting
-Check if the phone ringtone/notification sound is set to a piece of music from your SD card you have moved or deleted


If none of these seem out of order, check the speakers by playing some music.

Thanks for your help...all settings were ok but couldnt hear music so i guess its a problem with the speakers...and back to the shop for methanks again!

Just a last check: No annoying bleeping sound when you turn on the phone either?

Nope...no bleep!

Try downloading audio manager from the Market (free), it's shows all current volume levels and allows you to change them. Worth a try before you send the phone back

Maybe try a factory reset (if you've not already).

Then I would agree with Charlie, something is almost certainly wrong with the speakers and needs to be repaired.

Yep, Charlie says phone is faulty.

Unlucky mate, get it sent back/changed. It's a cracking phone, not perfect but worth a little hassle (but not much more)
