help!!
i tried installing the miui rom on my htc desire (rooted)
i put it on the sd card, went into recovery, and the thread told me to wipe cache, wipe all data and then re boot.
now my phone is dead as a dodo, when i switch it on it just brings up the htc screen then reboots over and over wtf do i do lol :confused:
 
Welcome to the forums, chris.

Some users have success by removing the battery and leaving it out for quite a while, over 10 minutes, then putting it back in and using volume down/power (or whatever the correct Desire button combination to get into the pre-boot menu), then reflashing following another wipe of the cache.

You don't report, you wipe then flash. Did the flash appear successful?

Please talk us exactly through what you did, what guide you used etc.

i got the walkthrough from the xda forum, when i installed the rom it said at the bottom no asd2 intallation aborted, also it didnt say make a backup so i didnt deeeeeer
 
So you hadn't made an ext3 partition for a2sd? Many ROMs that use this require the partition in order to work, and I guess this is one of them. So you need to partition the card before installing this ROM. If you're happy to do that before getting the phone back online then that's the next thing to do (easiest if you have a card reader).

If getting the phone back is the first priority, one way is to stick a ROM zip which doesn't need a2sd onto the SD card and flash that. You can mount the card from recovery (usb storage, it's in the menus somewhere) and copy the zip across. If you don't have a suitable zip or a preference, I generally recommend this ROM.

And always backup before flashing anything.
 
ive loaded the stock rom you suggested, it all went ok, no errors, the phones booted up and i can recive calls/texts but it just say loading please wait...
and its been that way for about half an hour:confused:
 
What just says loading? You have to give us more information than you do or we can't help.

By receiving calls and texts you're in the Rom so can't work out the problem.

We don't care if you supply more information than you think relevant as we can decide what is and is not relevant but we don't want to keep asking you questions just to ascertain what the problem is. Too much is always better than not enough
