Root Help

I cannot open the one click root file once I extract files. What am I doing wrong? I've been trying to root my friends phone for 2 weeks and I'm stuck and fustrated. Is there anyone out there willing to lend a helping hand.

Please provide a link to the one click root, so the proper advice can be given.

EDIT: Also, what kind of a computer are you using? And is the computer recognizing the phone when you connect via USB?

Do you have the samsung drivers installed on computer? If so try using a different usb slot aswell as a different usb cable. I use the blackberry cable. Believe it or not that could be the issue.

From the Root Guide which is stickied at the top of the All Things Root forum...

32-bit drivers: http://firon.net/xda/Samsung_Mobile_Driver_V1.3.800_For_SPH-d700_Epic_4G.zip
64-bit drivers: http://firon.net/xda/usb_drivers_GalaxyS_x64.zip

I double checked the Samsung website, and the 1.3.800 (32 bit drivers) are the most up to date. They don't list the 64 bit drivers though...

You will also need to turn the USB Debugging on....Settings->Applications->Development.

You will need to get the computer to recognize the phone via the USB port in order to use the one click root program....
