hi
I have recently bought htc salsa C501e and since it is my first android phone, i get pretty helpless when the phone memory gets low.
A notification pops up and when i click on it,it clears all the application cache.
But still the low memory warning doesn't go as the cache is not wnough to clear out sufficient space.
Eh Help Me!!

Welcome to Android Forums!

You can free up more memory several ways, depending on how much work you want to do. The easiest way is to get rid of the apps you don't use. Many people install a lot of apps initially and find they only use 20 or so on a regular basis.

You can also move some to an sd card if the developer permits it. If you go to menu>settings>application>manage applications and click on each app listed, you might see move to sd enabled. It doesn't move the entire app, but enough of it to free up memory. DO NOT move widgets to the SD card as they will become flakey, if they work at all.

You can set the default Install Location to the sd card without root and move more apps to the sd card.

You can root your phone and remove the carrier bloat, but be careful. Some of the seemingly unused apps provide necessary services which could render features unusable. Always best to check in your phone's forum before deleting something.

Finally you can flash a custom rom to maximize your memory management. That is quite involved, but if you want to try, we can help you with that.
