I have a Bell Motorola Android and my husband has a telus Htc desire, I just dropped my phone and it is not working. I need to get some contacts from my sim card right away as I need them for work. Now if we unlocked his phone would i be able to use my sim card in his phone and then would his work properly in it afterwards?

Unlocking a phone and swapping the sim for a little while won't cause you any problems, no.

One thing that occurs to me however - are you absolutely sure that they were stored as SIM contacts?

There are three types on contact on android: Google, SIM and Phone. If your contacts were on your SIM then you'll need to use another phone as you said. However, if your contacts were google contacts (which are the default), then you'll actually be able to access them all by going to the gmail website, logging in and going to your contacts list.

By the way, does your husband have a Desire or a Desire HD? If it's a desire, I'll move your post to that section, to make sure you get the most relevant responses to your questions :)

Definitely worth checking your gmail account in your browser. At a guess i'd say its there.

Have you got an old phone you can stick the sim in? It doesn't have to be a smartphone. Just to save the hassle of waiting for his phone to be unlocked.
