Newbie
I'm a newbie to all this and I did a factory reset on gingersteem extream and now it boots directly into CWM. I tried to restore my backup rom but I get an error saying "can't mount /sdcard/.android_secure!" and it just stops there.

Is there anything I can do to get my phone working again? Any help would be great.

try reflashing ur rom
 
thanks for the reply Mrpnut. I deleted the ROM zip file from my sdcard so I no longer have it. Is there a way I can get a ROM onto my phone while being stuck on CWM?
 
Come on, PNut... we've done this enough times HaHa should know this by now LoL jk

Take ur SD Card OUT of your phone(IF you have an external SD Card) and out the SD Card into another device that you can connect to the computer and place files onto the SD Card with. Once you put the ROM back onto the SD Card, place the SD Card back into the Esteem and "Install ZIP From SD Card".


P.S. The thing u did wrong was you "Factory Data Reset" through the
Settings -> Privacy tab in the OS... do NOT do that... if you ever want to Factory Reset with an aftermarket custom ROM u MUST do it inside of ClockWork Mod by booting into CWM and selecting "Wipe Data/Factory Reset". doing so through the custom ROM os will always format the Android.Secure folder on the internal SD Card IIRC.

I noe I'm at work right noe so I dont wanna get caught on my phone u noe wat i mean haha just a quick replie
 
I'm jk... Anyways, something should be posted in the GSE thread about NOT Factory Data Resetting through the OS and ONLY do it through CWM.
